Math Made Easy!

I love that our administrators are actively using Twitter and social media to grow as leaders! Often they find resources or articles that help me grow as a teacher or save me time as an ed tech coach. I love when that happens and such was the the case with the extension noted in this post. A huge shout out to Dr. Travena Hostetler for finding this resource on a blog she follows and for immediately sharing it with me! You Rock!
EquatIO – Math Made Digital is now available on the Chrome Web Store and works in Google Docs or Forms (Slides coming soon!)

“EquatIO makes math digital, helping teachers and students at all levels create math expressions quickly and easily. Type or handwrite virtually any mathematical expression directly on your keyboard or touchscreen. There’s no need for any complicated code or programming languages.”

EquatIO is an extension that you will need to add via your Chromebook first and then it will be available when you sign into Chrome on your PC.
Check out this video that explains it all:

Have you heard of Alice Keeler? She is a math teacher who also happens to be a Google Apps guru. Her blog Alicekeeler.com has a ton of great resources for all teachers. A recent blog post, ” AND ALL MATH TEACHERS SCREAMED WITH EXCITEMENT” Alice shares some great tips for math teachers and also explains how the EquatIO extension works. Speaking of math, she just released a new book, “Teach math With Google Apps” that I highly suggest math teachers check out!
If you have questions or need help using EquatIO, please contact me! If you check out the extension and have feedback, please post it in the comments below! Enjoy!
